I can't believe it has been so long since the last post, so much has happened since, including a fantastic trip to Japan in the autumn and a very successful joint venture to Wonderwool Wales with Rosie and Amanda from Saori Mor. I have also spent a lot of time in Cornwall renovating a gorgeous granite cottage in a little valley near the Eden Project. Over the coming year, I will be running unique Saori weaving holidays at the cottage and am very excited about the possibilities this will offer.

The other most important news is that the Wayward Weaves studio has now moved to Stroud in Gloucestershire. A wonderful Cotswold town steeped in weaving history, it feels like home already and is the perfect place to establish the more permanent Saori studio I have been yearning for. For the moment, I am able to offer weaving sessions for up to two people from my home so please do get in touch if you would like to find out more.

I have lots of great photos from the last year so please do visit again for updates. In the meantime, here is a little taster of what I have been up to:

Kenzo, Akiko and Nozomi and myself on the steps outside Saori no Mori. Such a warm welcome and an exhilarating week full of new discoveries.

I shared a stand with the lovely women from SaoriMor studio in Bangor. We had a great time and were kept very busy with the enthusiastic crowds. All on Misao Jo's 101st birthday weekend too!

    A bit about me...
I first heard about Saori in 2006 and was immediately struck by the inclusive philosophy and the beauty of the freestyle weavings. Since that day I have explored both traditional and Saori weaving and have been lucky enough to learn from some wonderful teachers across the world in Europe, Japan and the U.S.A.

I am as excited by Saori as I was at my first discovery and I love enabling others to experience the joy and freedom to be found in weaving the Saori way. I have a particular interest in arts and health projects.

Before starting on my Saori weaving adventures, I worked for 15 years in the community and environmental field.
I remain passionate about sustainability and try to incorporate these values into all aspects of my weaving work.
